Would it be possible to make templates like Task or the 100 Days / 2010 Agenda add automatically the page to the related category? This way we could list all the e.g. proposed tasks automatically.--[[User:qgil|qgil]] 15:07, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

:Yes, I've done these, but it's actually really simple procedure. Just add a <nowiki><includeonly>[[Category:''category'']]</includeonly></nowiki> to the template between the body of the template and the <nowiki><noinclude></noinclude></nowiki> part. See the [[Template:Task]] for how to set up a switch based on a parameter from the template (i.e. if the template is called by <nowiki>{{task:completed}}</nowiki>, then add the template to the [[Category:Completed]] subcategory). Anything in the <nowiki><includeonly></nowiki> tags will only be inserted into a page using the template, and not the template itself. —[[User:generalantilles|GeneralAntilles]] 21:24, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Templates for tasks

Hi, what about having templates for maemo.org tasks:

  • This is a proposed task, please help planning and getting it ready for a sprint. Add yourself if you are interested.
  • This is an accepted task and it is currently in the maemo.org backlog. Probably nothing is stopping you to start, though.
  • This is an ongoing task, planned to be completed during the month/year sprint. Your help is welcome!
  • This task is completed and this page stays here for documentation purposes only. Please file bugs or propose a new, related task if you want to push this forward.

Mostly done, see it at Template:Task. Use it with {{template|proposed}}, etc. —GeneralAntilles 11:06, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Needed templates

  • Pages maintained by Nokia and containing official information/documentation. They should have a clear notice with Nokia logo on top. It is likely that they would be editable only by a certain group, having the discussion page open for comments. This should be explained in the banner as well.--qgil 07:53, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Just started on a more robust and centralized messagebox system. Looks will be controlled from Common.css, will need to figure out the look and a color-coding system. Do you have a specific Nokia logo you'd like used for this particular box? See Template:OfficialGeneralAntilles 08:33, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
This one instead of the traffic signal would do the trick, thanks. Don't get too obsessed about layout design, color schemes... The pages still need to look maemo.org and not Nokia. These docs in the wiki are "Nokia unstable" documentation, full Nokia official and stable docs and pages need to be under the nokia.com domain. In any case you might want to have a look at the Forum Nokia MediaWiki for inspiration. From my point of view, Nokia logo on top of white background for the banner would do.--qgil 09:38, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
As for the wording, what about "This page may only be edited by Nokia contributors. Please see the talk page for discussion."--qgil 09:43, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Looks good! Is it there a public page listing the users that are Nokia contributors with permissions to edit? If so, it would be good to link it from "Nokia contributors" for full transparency on who can edit. If not, no problem.--qgil 09:55, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Special:ListUsers/nokiaeditors should do it. Updating template. . . . —GeneralAntilles 10:15, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Genius! Thanks a lot. (feel free cleaning this little thread, sorry for the noise).--qgil 10:25, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Equivalent to "This article is a stub, please help expanding it."--qgil 07:53, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Template:Expand is close enough, maybe think about adding a stub later. —GeneralAntilles 10:20, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Equivalent to "This article is probably outdated, please help updating it."--qgil 07:53, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Templates adding page to category
