[edit] Description
This package contains the Wireless tools, used to manipulate the Linux Wireless Extensions. The Wireless Extension is an interface allowing you to set Wireless LAN specific parameters and get the specific stats.
- ifrename - rename network interfaces based on various criteria.
- iwconfig - configure a wireless network interface.
- iwevent - display wireless events generated by drivers and setting changes.
- iwgetid - report ESSID, NWID or AP/Cell Address of wireless network.
- iwlisst - get more detailed wireless information from a wireless interface.
- iwpriv - configure optional parameters of a wireless network interface.
- iwspy - Get wireless statistics from specific nodes. NOTE: This tool does not currently work!
