On April 1, 2008, Nokia announced a new variation of the [[Nokia N810|N810 Internet Tablet]] at CTIA. With an appearance almost identical to that of the base N810, the N810 WiMAX Edition will operate on Clearwire and Sprint's Xohm WiMAX network. Sprint and Nokia have said that activating WiMAX can be done from the device with no WiFi connection. Sprint also says that WiMAX will be done in a pay-as-you-go method. This means that one will be able to purchase a length of time (day, week, month, year, etc.) instead of being locked to paying a certain amount every month.
