Talk:Maemo Summit 2008/Accommodation

Booking accommodation before knowing flight

Sponsored participant question: How do we book accommodation before we know the flight details? No point in booking a room for 4 days when available flights are only 3 days. --lcuk 15:58, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I was hoping to give details about boofing flights today. Will be tomorrow, hopefully. However, it's basically up to you to decide when you fly in & back so be my guest and book your hotel asap if you wish.--qgil 17:22, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Ending up in the same hotel

I would prefer to be in the same hotel as other participants. Could we have some info where everyone is staying? Hotel Ibis Berlin Mitte might be a popular choice, since it's explicitly listed here. I see Jaffa is staying in Mercure Hotel Berlin Mitte (which is probably too expensive for the sponsorship budget). Anyone else? --mgedmin 18:09, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

The Ibis had got more expensive when I went to book, and the Mercure had a similar cheapest price to the Ibis. Also, more convenient for OSiM & the summit. Probably more expensive than the budget, though --Jaffa 18:37, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Let me know if 375€ is not enough. We need a reference amount to make sure we don't sponsor more than we can conver with the budget. This is why I'm insisting to everybody to request sponsorship asap and have travel and accommodation budgeted asap. If I could only know whether the silent ones are still planning to request sponsorship or not... With the current requests alone you could sleep in the Ritz. ;) Please help calling for registrations the ones you really want to see in Berlin. --qgil 18:50, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
My 4 nights (Tues-Fri, departing Saturday evening) came to 356EUR at the Mercure. Dunno if that sets a benchmark: I was feeling rich when I booked it. Now... not so much :-) Long time to September tho' --Jaffa 19:30, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Looks like it's full now, damn.--anidel 07:13, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Hotel Ibis Berlin Mitte wants exactly 375EUR for 5 nights, but that doesn't cover breakfast (extra 9.50EUR per night). Mercure wants more than 400 EUR. There's another Ibis that's a bit closer, but that one is sold out already. --mgedmin
