Talk:Summer'12 Device Program/New Apps for Nokia Store

[edit] Declined

  1. Cue, by Anand Tamariya (atamariya) - CUE is a location based reminder application for Nokia phones. CUE helps you to remind you of "things to do" you need to do based on your current location. Did you forget to pick something up on your last trip to the market? Just set a reminder, and the next time you're near the market, CUE will remind you that you need to stop there, and why! It uses cellid based positioning to reduce power consumption. Here's a short demo video.
    • The thread shows an app for the N900. Are you proposing this to the Nokia Store or a N9 version?--qgil 19:39, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
  2. Stoppola, by Harri Pasanen (grego) - An application to make stop motion animations directly on N9. Work in progress commercial application. Will contribute improvements to ffmpeg/libav though to make those compile and work better on both Symbian and Meego. AFAIK, there is no such application on N9 (nor on Symbian).
    • Where is the app? If you have to develop it then it is better to do it in the context of the Code Competition. This activity is for existing apps.--qgil 23:09, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
  3. Mixxx, by Manuel Kirsch (Manuel) - an open source DJ application for mixing. Runs partially in a chroot environment.
    • So you need to have EasyDebian to run this? With that dependency I'd say the chances for this to get trhough the Nokia Store QA are prety slim... What is your approach?--qgil 21:52, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
    • Should be possible to port Mixxx to Harmattan, when it runs on EasyDebian (and Harmattan pendant: HarmChom).
  4. QuickEdit, by Ricardo Band(XenGi) You can use QuickEdit to change the Quick-launch icons on the bottom when you swipe half the way up the screen from any app on your Nokia N9 or N950. Just start the app, click on the Quick-launch icon you want to change and then on the new app. That's all! The discussion thread can be found here
    • But this one is already published at the Nokia Store, isn't it.--qgil 22:30, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
