The [[Community Council | Maemo Community Council]] will have its next election in October 2012, electing a new council and a Board of Directors for the foundation that will take over Maemo.org. The members will be elected for a 6 month term.

== Election Details ==

The election is choosing transitional institutions in connection with the ending of funding for Maemo.org by NOKIA on 31st of December 2012.
In the remaining months of 2012 the Council will keep the same functions as previously. After the transition of the Community to the foundation (still to be established) the Council should be the executive arm of the Board of Directors of said foundation.
The exact nature of the Board of Director is currently being established with the by-laws.
