  1. Install the following right away, with the regular app manager (HAM):
    1. rootfs
    2. fapman (FAM)
  2. do the following configuration changes:
    1. set the ringtone to "Low" instead of "Nokia Tune"
    2. set HAM auto-updating of the catalogs to false (where what that again?)
    3. in FAM:
      1. set "never auto-update catalogs" to true
      2. set "automatically remove un-needed packages" to false
    4. in "Parameters" disable the auto-updating of the packages when a network connection is established
    5. put XTerm shortcut on the desktop
    6. fix xterm custom keys bar (from http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=387901&postcount=11): run the following as the regular user: 
      1. gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/xterm/key_labels -t list --list-type=string "[Tab,Esc,PgUp,PgDn,|,~,>,\`,CR]"
      2.  gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/xterm/keys -t list --list-type=string "[Tab,Escape,Page_Up,Page_Down,bar,asciitilde,greater,grave,KP_Enter]"
      3.  sed -i -e "s/Throttle=0/Throttle=10/" /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg
    7. better trackerd, doesn't exactly make it bearable, but somewhat less sucking
    8. In config panel, change the following:
      1. display
        1. screen always on while charging
      2. profiles
        1. add vibration to "silent"
      3. text input
        1. use virtual keyboard -> true
        2. 1st language: french/quebec
        3. 2nd language: english/usa
        4. use both dictionaries -> true
      4. tv-out
        1. output mode: ntsc
  3. Initial cleanup
    1. start FAM and remove:
      1. document to go installer
      2. ap news installer
      3. amazon installer
      4. facebook installer
      5. tutorial home applet
    2. from the desktops
      1. the useless shortcuts (google, facebook, ovi store)
      2. the tutorial applet
  4. repositories setup
    1. add the following repositories in both HAM & FAM
      1. extras-testing
      2. extras-devel
      3. community-ssu testing
  5. Getting back a decent system
    1. Install the following packages:
      1. starhash enabler
      2. adblock plus
      3. adflashblock-css
      4. app search widget
      5. batterygraph
      6. community SSU enabler
      7. enhanced busybox shell
      8. fm radio player
      9. linux kernel for power users (v47 as of May 2011)
      10. opera mobile (v11)
      11. openssh server/client
      12. x11vnc
      13. presence vnc
      14. katana (and some bibles...)

    4. setup /etc/hosts

    4. reconfigure email accounts:

    5. reconfigure google calendar sync
