Infrared Hardware Comparisons for N900

This wiki is to compile a list of hardware revisions and infra-red distance to help with development of Pierogi.

Currently there is a mystery issue for some users of Pierogi. Some people are experiencing a less then ideal range issue from there IR module. Hopefully in compiling data in the table below, it will be possible to establish a solution.


Instruction for use of Infrared Range Issues Table

  • Username - Please enter a name or username
  • Revision - To find your hardware revision number:

Open a Terminal and type

cat /proc/cpuinfo

Near the bottom of the output is your N900's "Revision"


  • Issue - Enter Yes or No in the Issue column.
  • Range - Maximum distance from the equipment to your device that the keyset works
  • Keyset - Pierogi Keyset that has an issue
  • Equipment - Model Number of recieving equipment to be controlled
  • Date - Dates are in international format
example:-   20120131   is    31 January 2012


  • Notes - to keep track of multiple devices etc..
  • Please report only one Keyset per row and edit your row if you have reported "No" for your device in the issues column before.
